Salvation Army Wins British Construction Industry Award 2024

The Salvation Army Territorial Headquarters – a modern and flexible new flagship headquarters for the charity, designed with a focus on wellbeing and sustainability – won Cultural and Leisure Project of the Year at the 37th British Construction Industry Awards.

The project was described by the judges as an ‘Excellent building with a close client relationship to develop the brief, producing a building that was designed with an emphasis on long life (ideally 120 years), was sensitive to the surroundings, light and airy for the staff and had good community engagement and input.

An impressive BREEAM Excellent building that has made a strong contribution to its local streetscape while adhering to a tight budget. Collaboration within the design team and sustainability considerations, particularly in carbon reduction and longevity, were highlighted.
