Yesterday our student placement engineers were taken along to see the progress at our Coombe Road site in South West London. This was a great chance to witness the sample brickwork and precast columns being installed.

We welcome student engineers every summer and like to take them along to as many site visits as possible. It’s a very useful exercise; putting context to their design work, whilst providing an introduction to construction methods and standards on site.

The impressive work of our young engineers feels all the more valuable and rewarding when given the chance to see the end product. After all, the success of a student placement’s time with us isn’t judged solely by the quality of their work but equally so by the opportunities we have provided that can’t necessarily be taught in a lecture hall or classroom.
