Modifications are being made to this grade II listed property in Belgravia, retaining the existing historic structure whilst strengthening the floors. A rear extension is being constructed with the original structure being retained where possible.
A grade II listed property within the Belgravia conservation area, which was originally constructed in the 1800s. In view of the listed status, there are minor modifications being undertaken within the existing building. There are areas where the existing structure is failing, leading to damaged finishes and unacceptable vibration within the floors. We are therefore working with specialists to support existing areas of damaged structure, and incorporate strengthening to floors whilst retaining existing historic structure. This will also allow accommodation of modern services, to preserve the structure for a new generation.
To the rear, we are constructing a new extension which will use retained structure where possible. The new structure has been designed traditionally, to sensitively add to the existing building. The structure has also been designed considering the limited access for construction and deliveries. We have also worked closely with the party wall surveyors throughout, to ease the process of approval given the many close neighbours on the site.
